Cocoa Banana Bread Recipe

Cocoa banana bread fresh out of the oven!

Traditional banana bread with a hint of chocolate fresh from the oven
> Origin: Western
> Cost: Cheap
> Ease: Easy

Back when I was a little girl, my mom used to make banana bread all the time. Her banana bread was honestly the best thing in the world, and it'd get finished in 2-3 days easily. I loved the sticky top of the bread and the crunchy exterior, and of course, the soft center. Sometimes she'd add walnuts because my dad is a big fan of nuts and she added blueberries one time as well. I remember making it with her a lot as a kid, it was a lot of fun and after awhile, I learned the recipe by heart as well. It was so simple, but so good. Banana bread should be something that everyone knows how to make. The recipe is super easy, so it's hard to mess up/go wrong-- so please try it out and enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 tspn baking soda
  • 1 tspn vanilla
  • 1/2 tspn salt
  • 3 bananas, mashed
  • Handful of chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Handful of chocolate chips (optional)
Methods:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease your pan.
  2. Mix butter and sugar. Add in eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  3. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir into butter mixture until smooth. Mix in bananas and walnuts/chocolate chips/etc.
  4. Pour evenly into the pan so that the batter surface is flat.
  5. Bake for around 60 minutes (1 hours) or until the toothpick comes out relatively clean. Cool for 10 minutes, remove from pan, serve or allow to cool completely before storing for another day.
